The Cloisters located in upper Manhattan on a hilltop overlooking the Hudson River transports you to another world. It felt like discovering a hidden gem finally visiting the Cloisters. The museum is devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe with beautiful gardens featuring plants used during that time. The whole experience was majestic to say the least.
It is also a great way to beat the heat on a summer day in the city. The thick stone walls provides a cool environment to wander the halls. Plus there’s a café located in one of the courtyards to provide rest & refreshments.
