A visit to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve 🙂
I salute all entrepreneurs that have taken risks to pursue their passion projects and love the mission from BUILD. BUILD is dedicated to proving the power of experiential learning through entrepreneurship, and igniting the potential of youth in under-resourced communities.
It was a great opportunity to be able to attend the 7th Annual BUILD Gala in San Francisco where they honored the Golden State Warriors. Honoree, Joe Lacob, Rick Welts, and Bob Myers talked about vision, breaking the rules, and teamwork. The whole night was inspiring from a student marketplace, BUILD testimonials, and a live auction. We flew up from Los Angeles with our boss Bruce Makowsky, a visionary and serial entrepreneur, that donated a trip to 924 Bel Air Road as one of the items on the auction. With a successful live auction and generous contributions all around the Gala raised $1.75 million dollars. A great way to support the belief in the future of our youth entrepreneurs!
As a small business owner and entrepreneur, it was such an encouragement to learn about BUILD and excited for their Los Angeles location to open.
When you’re heading to the Hollywood Beauty Awards you make the cutest DIY Red Carpet Clutch. Designed with a black metal oversized ring handle, a compact envelope furry flap closure, and just enough space to fit your makeup & essentials. It’s classic with a touch of edge, perfect for the event where they celebrate the architects of beauty in hair, makeup, photography and styling.
Big Congrats to our friend Timothy White for being awarded the 2017 Honoree for Outstanding Achievement in Photography. Your endless body of work is amazing and award well deserved!
We had a great time attending Pearl xChange, an empowering, transformative event for women who are finding that they want more. More knowledge. More support. More connections with like minded women, and more connection to spirit. It was a full day with amazing women speakers that covered all topics from how they started a business, directed a movie, wrote a book to their personal stories of how they got to where they are today.
It was food for the mind listening to a full day of inspirational & powerful women along with lunch, happy hour and networking. Every attendee received plenty of gifts including a Levis Denim Jacket that each person could customize to make it their own. After bringing home my new jacket I had to get baby Rylie one two. #Twinning
It’s baby Rylie’s first Halloween so I made her a D.I.Y. Dorthy costume from the Wizard of Oz (and of course with a mini bag). We can’t believe she’s already one month old! We celebrated with an outing to Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch… so much fun! Even though she slept most the time we enjoyed getting her dressed up and pumpkin picking.
“Pink is the color of the season,” according to WhoWhatWear and we’re not hating on it. With the baby girl on the way we have developed a love for all shades of pink. Finding cute maternity clothes hasn’t been the easiest but surprisingly we found that ASOS has cute trendy maternity clothes. We’ve also discovered Closet Collective, a platform where you can borrow clothes for the month, which is perfect for a growing bump. You can also borrow accessories like our Knox Mini Backpack from Closet Collective as well. Perfect way to test it out before committing to purchase.
Summer has been flying by and we can not believe it is already mid-August (and Baby due next month)! Visited the historic Bradbury Building where movies like Blade Runner, 500 Days of Summer and Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation music video was filmed. This architectural landmark is located at 304 South Broadway at West 3rd Street in downtown Los Angeles, California and it’s quite a gem. Across the street is the Million Dollar Theater and the Grand Central Market which is a great spot to get some delicious eats after.
Been super occupied getting ready for the baby on the way + the day job… that keeping up with the bags + blog have fallen a little behind. But there is no excuse. To make it easier we’ll just mix everything going on in life and share it more on the blog. As you can see the third trimester has put ice cream and bunnies on the brain.
1. Went to the opening reception of the Gregory Siff Exhibition – ‘Portrait of an American Ice Cream Man’. Enjoyed the sweet theme, the raw artistic style and the ice cream that was served. 2. Finding my new love for pink… here is the new Belmont Xbody. 3. Got to check out the traveling exhibition of the Bunny Lights in DTLA. Intrude by Amanda Parer. 4. This is how my pregnancy brain feels. Sweet Melting Benches. 5. Decorating the baby room is taking me to fun prints like this.
Blue denim jeans are great but how about applying denim to home decor and accessories? Found some denim inspo on pinterest and decided to make a denim story with our bags. Here’s the Belmont Bucket Bag, Knox Mini and the Abbot Clutch in a denim canvas mixed with a textured bubble lamb leather. Get ready for some denim on denim on denim.
What color leather suits you? We love neutral color leathers that vibes with your full wardrobe. But ivory, brown, black or grey?… Tough Choice. Let us know what your favorite Knox Mini Backpack is!
If you follow us on instagram you probably saw our baby announcement. Yes, we have a little bun in the oven and we are over the moon for this little girl to arrive. Maybe it’s time to cook up a baby bag as well. We have 6 more months to design this bag and we’ll keep you posted just in case there are other mommies that want one. But most importantly we need to think of a name first!!! <3
The MOCA Pacific Design Center has an exhibition by Catherine Opie called 700 Nimes Road. The exhibition documents the interior of Elizabeth Taylor’s home in BelAir. The photographs show images of her extravagant jewelry collection, her closet full of accessories/clothes, and pictures of her friends & family. It takes you inside her quaint home to get a sense of how this iconic legend lived.
The irony of this exhibition is that 700 Nimes Road is where I currently work. My coworkers and I walked through this exhibition identifying the rooms in the photographs and felt a very close connection to Elizabeth Taylor’s home which we now call our office. It’s a privilege to have a 9-5 job working on exciting art projects and sitting in an office where Liz once resided, hosted friends & family, and called her home for many years.
We’ve been enjoying the 80 degree weather in Los Angeles and not quite missing the NYC bitter cold. However, NYFW is looking good and we had to post some of our favorite looks from Zero Maria Cornejo paired with our handbags. Big fan of her minimal designs that always looks cool and collected.
We are excited for all the great things that will happen in 2016. The best part of making things happen is in the company of good friends.
Love spending time with positive women that dream big and achieve goals. Was a blast enjoying some SundayFunday with MishFitLife & Velvet-ed. We took some new bags out for a stroll in downtown LA and shopped local goodies at Artists & Fleas. Michelle wore the burgundy beauty Mason Tote. Anjuli rocked a mod blue number with the Avery Fringe Crossbody. Adore!!!
Award Season always gets us excited. Our Ava Clutch attended the Golden Globes and the nude & metallic was on point like Rosie and Brie’s dresses. Our favorite look this year was Eva Longoria in Georges Hobeika. The winter white with the bow and embroidered florals was so fresh and so cute. We also loved Gina Rodriguez in Zac Posen and of course Jennifer Lopez in Giambattista Valli. There were so many great looks… what was your fav?!?
Swing by Gallery Voila! and check out the Norman Reedus + Jake Lamagno exhibition. Talk about eclectic cool… the vibe in this venue is not your average white wall gallery. Every corner had a piece of furniture or a work of art that drew you in.
We love hearing the stories behind artists work and Norman Reddus’ photography delivers everything you would expect from his ‘Walking Dead’ character. His photography along with Jake Lamango’s sculptures were a perfect duo that complimented each other very well (like our Mies Mini Bag and a bottle of Peroni) #SundayFunday.
We are loving the ivory bags for the Fall season. One of our favorite bags, the Mies Mini Bag is also available in Ivory White to keep it light for the new season. Happy November!
We finally had a chance to visit The Broad museum and it didn’t disappoint. From the moment we got there we were in awe of the exterior followed by the art inside. (Ps – We just introduced our Knox Mini Backpack in Ivory White which we might as well call The Broad White)
Our favorite contemporary artist were all displayed and we are looking forward to going back for seconds to catch the Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room.
Firenze, Italia is breathtakingly beautiful, romantic, and the perfect place to create great designs. I was lucky to be the winner of the IHDAwards for the Guess Category where the winner spends one week in Italy working with the design team there.
I met the sweetest people that showed me around and spoiled me with delicious Florentine food, wine, and desserts. The talented team showed me how they design and run the Guess Handbag Brand. It was intriguing to see the differences and similarities of how they work and design. I was sketching, playing with materials, and designing bags with the team all week. The best part was seeing the winning denim bag I designed come to life with their factories and can’t wait to see it online and in stores in April 2016.
And here’s a little video from the trip:
Pop Fiction is the current exhibition at De Re Gallery with artist Maruro Perucchetti. We were drawn to all the bright colors, crystals, chrome and use of resin. His work is a mirror of modern day materialistic desires and worth checking out if you’re walking passed Melrose.
From work to play, the Knox backpack enjoyed the opening night for this exhibition as you can see!
We love all things with a retro flair. Here we lined up a few bags from our collection for an editorial shoot while humming…
Welcome to the Hotel California. Such a lovely place. Such a lovely face. Plenty of room at the Hotel California. Any time of year. You can find it here…
We can not believe the summer is almost over and it is September tomorrow!
We ventured to Venice and with the Everett Beltbag on hip we were able to cruise light. The beltbag-slash-wristlet has been our functional staple when it comes to being active and hands free. With the long weekend coming up ahead you know where to find us.
We can’t get enough of this Knox Mini Backpack. It has function, style and is absolutely adorable. It’s the perfect size to wear around town and fit all your essentials + plus more…
We enjoyed two weeks on the East End and completed our stay with Art Southampton. This premier contemporary art fair had over 85 international galleries along with art collectors and art lovers that came from all over the globe.
There was a sculpture garden and the main entrance of the pavilion had outstanding pieces from a rusted Birkin Bag, colorful gnomes, to seats made of bottle caps. We loved the mirrored No.5 Perfume Bottle and all the art from Heiner Meyer.
Other favorites were Nick Veasey, Jay Kelly, and Bruce Makowsky’s art presented by Axiom Contemporary Gallery. We loved the range of artists from new names on the block to well known masters. This fair was inspiring and got us super excited for Art Basel coming up in December.
Our back-to-back Art run started Fourth of July Weekend with Art Hamptons from July 2nd – 5th.
We enjoyed discovering new artists from Nemo Jantzen, Gian Garofalo to David Datuna who had the very appropriate red, white and blue American Flag. The best part of a lot of the pieces is what happens visually when you get close up and it opens up another story. Made out of lens, pez toys to vintage fashion magazines the layers that make some of these pieces were very creative and impactful.
Our main artist we were here to support was Bruce Makowsky presented by Axiom Contemporary Gallery. His art drew a crowd and we loved the sculptural pieces that exuded ultimate luxury. We have our eyes on the Chanel No. 5 Perfume bottle hand carved from Honey Onyx Stone. Need!!! Want!!! Now!!!
Love is in the air along with colorful polka dots, bright colors and rainbows everywhere. So better late than never here is our visit to the Yayoi Kusama “Give Me Love” exhibit at the David Zwirner Gallery in New York just before closing. You walk up to this small house in the middle of a garage where you were handed a sheet of stickers before entering. What started as a blank white canvas in May had since been transformed into a beautiful array of colors. Such a fun interactive art installation!
From New York to Los Angeles we love driving by the Craft and Folk Art Museum to see the changing text made of yarn. This public art is from a ‘ragtag group of guerrilla knitters gone legit’ spreading the love #HateWontWin #LoveWins. And lastly, we had to share the set of rainbow bags from HBD101… Can you spot our Ava Clutch?
Last Wednesday, the evening of June 17th the Annual IHDA Award Ceremony took place at the SVA Theatre in New York City. Finalists from all over the world traveled to NY to attend this special night and I flew in from LA in hopes to bring back an award. I was lucky enough to attend the award ceremony for the third consecutive year and this year I was nominated for the Distinctly Denim Handbag by Guess. The lovely event was filled with talented designers, fashion influencers, and industry veterans like Rebecca Minkoff who was honored with the Iconoclast Award.
It was a memorable night and I was over the moon when they called us as the winner of the Guess Handbag!!! What an incredible moment and I am so honored for the opportunity to collaborate with Guess and work with their creative team in Italy to produce this bag for their stores worldwide. It was a magical night and can not wait!!! (Last year I was nominated for this category but did not win so this year it feel so good to bring this award home. To all the finalists and potential applicants… even if you lose there is always next year so don’t give up. Hard work does pay off and talent shines through).
Big Congrats to all the other winners from all the different categories! Lastly, thank you Emily for creating this amazing platform for Independent Designers to dream big.
Don’t know about you guys but we love perusing flea markets. Rose Bowl Flea Market has been on our list for awhile and we finally checked it out.
Minus the sun blaring down and feeling like the hottest day on earth we couldn’t get enough of all the treasures. We were obsessed with these colorful benches (so was the Belmont Bag).
Next time we want to get there super early with our folding shopping cart so we can do some real damage. Shop till you drop from the heat!
‘I prefer accessories over clothes 100%’ she told Excessories Expert. Loved reading this #girlcrush feature where she’s wearing our Edie Shoulder Bag in Python. Stassi has proven to be the queen of accessories and we are obsessing with all these photos from her blog StyleByStassi.
If a great style blog wasn’t enough, she also has an additive podcast called Straight Up With Stassi. We are guilty of listening to it while working and need to get caught up with the latest talks. Thanks for keeping our ears and eyes smiling with both the podcast and blog. Love seeing our girl rock our bags and continue to accomplish her stylish dreams.
Super excited to announce we’ve been nominated for the Independent Handbag Designer Awards for the 3rd year in a row! The IHDA has selected our Guess Sketch and we are in the process of making this Denim Handbag. We love being part of this community and can’t wait to meet all the other talented designers for the Award Ceremony coming up.
Our inspiration for this bag is C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A and you can see more on our video:
Do you remember our ‘Bow Down’ Bag from last year?? Below is our FlashbackFriday photo of our Guess Bag as a finalist for 2014’s IHDA. As you can see we love designing denim bags and what better brand to do that for then GUESS?
Our wishlist was inspired by the all white installation in Silver Lake by French artist Vincent Lamouroux for ProjectionLA. The site, located on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Bates Avenue is the Sunset Pacific Motel also known as ‘Bates Motel’. The minimalistic artist used ecologically-safe and biodegradable solution of a limewash to create the matte white art destination. The action of whitewashing is a conceptual means for the artist to, “free the landscape in time and space… to make something appear in the middle of the urban landscape. It is the idea of appearance and disappearance.” #ProjectionLA will be up till May 10th.
The Alien Flowers Exhibition by Joseph Arthur at Gallery Go is fantastic. He is genuinely so talented in both music and art and it was a pleasure to see his work and performance on his opening night April 8th. The exhibition is still up and worth checking out if you are passing by 947 N La Cienega Blvd, West Hollywood.
Huge fan of his music and after seeing him several times in concert in NYC it was nice to see him in a gallery setting with his visual art in LA. Lastly, here is his song Horses (one of my favorites since it’s also the song we used to walk down the aisle for our wedding). Swoon!
The sun is shining and festival season is here. The Avery Fringe Bag is our boho staple… and it’s on sale! What better way than to pair it with an image of our all time favorite model Lily Aldridge and her hip sister Ruby. Looking forward to seeing all the festival fashion… bring on the fringe!
Paris, We love you! We are finally getting around to Part II of our Tradeshow Recap and looking at our photos from Paris have us smiling from ear to ear.
What a beautiful city and it was a great time to be there during Paris Fashion Week (Our favorite bloggers and celebs were everywhere). We were ecstatic to be part of Capsule Paris with the Accessories Council Showcase. Capsule never fails to bring together the freshest designers & product.
We met new designer friends along with buyers from all over the world. Lastly, we were super excited to open our first international account for a Korean department store and can’t wait to see our bags there! Till next time… Au revoir!
We attended Create + Cultivate, an all day event full of creative women getting inspired by other incredible creatives. The influencers, bloggers and business owners shared their inspiring stories of where they started and how they became a recognized brand. The lineup ranged from Leslie Blodgett (creator of Bare Minerals), Aimee Song, PeaceLoveShea, Whitney Port, Chriselle Lim, Jen Gotch, Emily Weiss and the list goes on here.
It is always great to surround yourself and meet others in the creative community which can lead to new friendships and relationships. We’ve heard several influencers in today’s panels talk about authenticity, being true to yourself. ‘Your face & your voice are your brand’. ‘In this digitally connected world everything is possible so go after your passions.’
We could not stop laughing at everything that came out of @TheFatJewish ’s mouth: ‘Behind every Selfie is 75 selfies that didn’t make it. Just rip it and Post it!’ What an entertaining panel. Including sweetheart Julianne Hough who just launched her own blog and also gracing the cover of Allure Magazine next month.
There was plenty of time to shop the adorable Pop-up shops from Splendid, Mr. Kate, Marais and more. Glamsquad had you covered if you wanted your hair or makeup done. Adorable decor, great music by @lindsayluv and delicious eats all day including ice cream, coffee, and liquor if you needed that extra kick. We were happy to be one of the many sponsors and hope you enjoyed our gold embossed card holders!

Recently, I was able to enjoy the Armory Art Week at Pier 92 & 94 and they had a lot of different art from all over the world. Between interactive pieces, video art and really amazing installations, you were surrounded by art at every corner. Glenn Kaino’s arrows (shown above) drew me in and loved how people interacted with the piece.
It’s been quite a hectic month with three trade shows lined up between WWDMagic in Las Vegas, Capsule Show in New York, and currently in France for Capsule Paris right now. We wanted to do a Recap of our first two shows and follow it up with a ‘Part II from Paris’ when we’re back stateside.
We’ve been having a blast with the Accessories Council and honored to be selected to showcase with them. It’s been a great experience meeting like-minded designers along with buyers and press from all over the globe.
At Capsule NY we got to sit in for ‘The Independent Mindset’ Discussion, with innovative minds in indie retail featuring Steven Alan, Jill Totokaelo and Jen from ShopBird. The panel was moderated by Lauren Sherman the editor of Fashionista.com. Great advice and tips for independent designers & brands and what retailers look for.
One thing we’ve heard many times is that it’s all about the follow up and building the relationships with the buyers for the long run. We loved meeting the team at Coop & Spree who we adore for writing such kind words about us on WWD! Makes all the hustle worth it!
In 2015, Los Angeles is the first touchdown destination for the unconventional exhibition “LOUIS VUITTON SERIES 2 – Past, Present, Future”.
“A modern and unexpected reinterpretation of a fashion show, this exhibition invites visitors to discover Nicolas Ghesquiere’s inspirations for this third ready-to-wear show as the Artistic Director for women’s collections at Louis Vuitton. The exhibition is laid out like a journey into the designer’s mind, allowing visitors to group how he approaches and reinterprets stylistic codes at the 160 year-old fashion and luxury house. The exhibition also lets visitors explore how Ghesquiere’s vision inspires current creations and how it will shape the future of Louis Vuitton”.
A must see if you are in LA before the exhibition closes Feb 22nd. Open to public and located at 1135 North Highland Ave. Los Angeles, CA. This fashion/art exhibition takes you through LV’s history and really makes you appreciate this power house. It displays the timeless inspirations behind a new collection.
Our favorite section of the exhibition was the all white Accessory Room. It’s the room we imagine when all accessories go to heaven. Every room was carefully thought out, designed and exudes luxury. What a genius way of connecting with a new & existing audience to interact with the brand in a modern way. #LVSERIES2

We love Amazon. We buy everything from books, beauty products, gifts, to office supplies. But did you know that Amazon has an Independent Designers Section?!? This is a new addition to Amazon where they scout cool independent designers to sell on their platform. We were honored when they asked us to be part of this group as one of the first handbag brands to launch (beta) November 2014.
Check us out on www.amazon.com/marylai and don’t forget to browse the rest of the talented independent designers.
We had a blast visiting their photo studio in Brooklyn and meeting their lovely staff. Photographer: Diane Vasil | Digital Tech: Sean Hutcheon | Model: Caitlin Grace Wetmore | Mua/Hair: Sunny J Bourgeois | Co-Styling: Tiffany Pinero
Add some sunshine to your winter wardrobe with the Belmont Bucket Bag in Mustard Yellow. We are in love with this color and ease of this casual versatile bag (on sale for $198).
The color brightens your mood and is great for gallery hopping or walking around the city. Here’s how Lynn from Neckbreakin’ Style wears the Belmont Yellow. Enjoy your weekend!
We all know that when interviewing for a new job, first impressions count for a lot. Our graphic designer friend, Kate, asked us if we could help her with a DIY portfolio case that would give her a little extra edge meeting with perspective employers and freelance clients.
After talking to Kate about the concept for this bag and sketching out our design, we began working on the pattern. Since the main function of this bag is business/interview related, we created the perfect pockets in the front to fit both resumes and business cards for easy accessibility.
After a little industrial sewing machine demo, Kate was excited to start putting her portfolio case together. And for a first sample we were impressed. Once she completed her sample, we surprised her with a finished portfolio case with a detachable messenger strap we made for her. We had a blast doing this DIY and hope the new portfolio bag helps Kate for her bright future ahead.
Hope you enjoyed the holidays and are excited for the new year as we are. We can’t thank you enough for all the love + support you’ve shown us in 2014 and the sky’s the limit for 2015. We were reflecting on all the highlights from the past two years we’ve been in business and it’s been an incredible ride. Thanks to all the creative minds that have helped us create fresh content over these years.

The photographers, stylists, fashion bloggers and influencers that we worked with made our bags come to life. And in 2015 we will continue to challenge our creative minds to make magic. ‘Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it’ – art by Mr. Brainwash
Pop. Fizz. Clink. Happy New Year!
Customized cards are the best. When two very special people are tying the knot, why not DIY?! For a non-traditional bride + groom we made a leather envelope clutch that is very Amy + Rory style.
We cut out geometric shapes to spell out their names, mixed materials/textures/colors and added lots of gunmetal hardware. The end result suit them well and we are over the moon for these two! All the love in the air… Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays!
Last Tuesday evening we had our Trunk Show at Bene Rialto and thank you everyone who came out. We had the best time seeing everyone and we are obsessed with all the fashion illustrations Emily Brickel whipped up. These sketches with all the girls wearing different Marylai Bags makes us grin from ear to ear.
Big thanks to Bene Rialto for hosting, Lululosophy for the delicious hand-crafted chocolates, Mr. Adams for the music and our special guest Stassi Schroeder who was visiting from LA (we are hooked on watching you on Bravo TV’s Vanderpump Rules!)
We showcased some of our newest handbag styles for our holiday shoppers. Thank you Christina Emilie for capturing the evening with your beautiful photography.
Happy Holidays and Cheers to another great trunk show! (Sign up for our mailing list to find out about future events and hope to see you at the next one!)
The red soles assembled = heart beating faster. This piece is called Sacred Heights, one of many pieces at Art Basel that makes your heart skip a beat. From street art to high art, Miami had it all and we tried to take in all of it.
We covered the Art Basel Convention Center, Scope, Miami Project, Art Miami, Red Dot to Wynwood and all the small galleries in between. It was amazing as usual and extremely inspiring as always.
The Belmont Bucket Bag is seriously the best everyday casual bag. And when in Miami it’s time to try out a bright lilac version.
This time around I had more time to spend in Wynwood and was obsessed with all the color, street art and live art going on. It. Was. Art. Paradise.
Sometimes you need a little change. I have this vintage table I bought at Brimfield Antique Show awhile back. I love the unique design and decided to give it a few coats of paint to freshen it up.
This table is used for my sewing machine and I love how the whites brighten up the room.
Lastly, I added some mini black triangles to the table top. This playful design keeps me smiling as I sew and it makes for a nice background for product shots like this: Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s that time of year and the holidays are around the corner. We are excited to partner with other small businesses that are hosting cool pop-ups!!!

So I had a little getaway to California and the best part was hanging out with my adorable nieces and nephew. San Diego was perfect for the kids because they have Legoland, San Diego Zoo and so many great outdoor activities.
It was a great time hanging out with the whole family and enjoying San Diego. Even a short travel is inspiring and refreshing. Now back to business.
In 2013, American Express OPEN launched OPEN Forum: CEO BootCamp, a new advocacy initiative helping women business owners reach their full potential as CEOs and grow their businesses. The premise of the initiative is to immerse women entrepreneurs in some of the fundamental pillars for successful ventures: confidence, competence & connections.
OPENForum topics throughout the day revolved around
1. Getting Customers 2. Managing Money 3. Sourcing Ideas
The free one-day event was open to all women entrepreneurs with a full schedule including a mix of panels, keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities. 800+ women business owners (WBOs) from the New York area attended at the Sheraton Time Square along with WBOs who participated in the live stream around the country.
As the 2013 Winner of the ‘Ones to Watch’ (formerly the Rising Stars of Fashion), I was invited along with Kelsea Slade the 2014 winner to participate in a mentorship conversation with Diane von Furstenberg during the main stage session of #CEOBootCamp. This was an amazing opportunity to talk with the fashion icon and hear her story of how she built her iconic brand. Everyone in the audience got a copy of her newest book ‘The Women I Wanted to Be’ and she even asked the audience to hold up the books so she can take an instagram photo from her view on the stage. Talk about keeping up with social media! And she just aired her own television show House of DVF last week. This legendary fashion designer does not stop and she teaches us how the sky is the limit.
“The most important relationship you can have is with yourself.” – Diane @DVF
There was so many great take-aways from the CEO Bootcamp. Read more about it here.
Meeting Diane and having a conversation during the panel at CEOBootCamp was one of the biggest highlights. As a follow up to the event, we were invited to visit her DVF Studio in the Meatpacking District the next night. It was a great evening with private shopping, drinks by Hella Bitters, seeing her personal art collection, and meeting other business owners. I love people that make things happen and was excited to learn more about Small Business Saturday coming up… Make sure to support SBS Nov. 29th!
Bene Rialto means “good marketplace” in Italian and after attending the opening week we agree it is good. The innovative store with the five floors has a mix of independent fashion brands, an art gallery, event space and will continue to discover new concepts.
The launch event included music, drinks, food, temporary tattoos and fashion illustrations by Emily Brickel. We had a blast and was thrilled to find out that our newest Avery Crossbody in Fringe & Fur was the first bag sold at Bene Rialto! Here is the fashionable customer photographed while she explained how much she loved the compartments, card holders and all the details! We melt when we hear from a happy customer.
Check out Bene Rialto located on 13 West 38th Street and shop the assortment of Marylai Bags.
We had a great day trip to pick some apples and see some art. Our first stop was at Hurds Family Farm where we got fresh doughnuts, hot apple cider and bags full of apples.
On the drive back we stopped at Storm King Art Center. It’s been awhile since we visited and we got to check out some of their newer pieces. We had the ultimate Fall Fundaze going from apples to art.
Last Friday we did a DIY Makeup Pouch on #NationalHandbagDay with Josie Maran and Risa from Hello Giggles. They came to our showroom and while Josie was intensely getting questioned with Risa’s ‘Inconvenient Interview’ she was still doing a great job making the bag.
What we learned is that Josie can kinda do it all. She is a mother of two, a successful entrepreneur (with her own cosmetics line run with her husband/photographer), model, actress and lady of many skills. We love that her Josie Maran Cosmetics has the mission of ‘Luxury with a Conscience’ and she is so passionate about giving back and empowering others. So. Inspired.
We stayed with her ethos and picked out recycled leathers and a natural eco-friendly cork fabric to create this DIY makeup bag. The final product came out great and was the perfect fit for all her JM cosmetics. Stay tuned for Risa & Josies Inconvenient Interview so you can watch the DIY action and also get some good laughs. These two are hilarious and we had a great time with this special project on National Handbag Day!
*Check out the Hello Giggles video.

Go Lord & Taylor for creating Birdcage! Located on the 2nd floor of the Fifth Avenue flagship store, Birdcage is the new concept ‘shop-in-shop’ carrying emerging designers and artisans.
“We are looking to really inject newness and fashion relevance for existing customers and to attract new customers”. We are happy to see all the efforts to highlight fresh talent in stores like L&T and others…
The New Neutral is grey. It goes with everything. This Grey Marlow Satchel is made with a cowhide leather that looks better the more you wear it. That’s the beauty of leather. And to add to the shades of grey story we used gunmetal hardware for this beauty.
We captured these photos downtown right before sunset. New York City changing seasons from summer to fall gives you just the reason to add a new bag color to your fall wardrobe. Model: Carris Flynn | MUA: Jo-anne Gregory | Stylist: Tiffany Pinero | Jewelry: OneOakbySara
Visited the Brooklyn Museum this past weekend to check out the ‘Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe’. The exhibition opened September 10th and will be up until February 15, 2015.
There are deadly sharp stilettos, architecturally inspired platforms and a number of works of shoe art. Designers include Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Aperlai, Vivienne Westwood and more…
This exhibition includes trippy short films and a full range of all the #KillerHeels you can imagine. Not sure if these were all made for walking but they make a great conversational piece displayed in a museum setting.
Killer Heels explores fashion’s most provocative accessory. As fashion statement, fetish object, instrument of power, and outlet of artistic expression.
NYFW is over and we are replaying all the shows contemplating our favorite looks. One of our favorites is the street style during fashion week.
Here’s a few shots with our handbags we’ve spotted. We love that WWD captured the Belmont Check Bucket Bag!
This Belmont Check is a Young & Able x Marylai collaboration bag that is a limited edition for $198. It’s a major score and statement piece we are in love with. We love collaborating with cool companies doing fresh things. Make sure to check our their Series project on Kickstarter and support if you want to see a monthlong pop-up space featuring unique products, designer & maker talks and workshops in NYC.
It’s Fall, it’s Fashion Week and it’s Friday! So it’s a good time to feature Tuolomee by Tiffany Borland and how she styles the Marylai – Ava Clutch.
The Ava Clutch has a bold statement hardware plate great for events and nights out. The flip side is more subtle and can be worn everyday especially with the detachable shoulder strap chain as you can see photographed here.
Our California Blogger has given us many ideas of how to style this one bag into many looks. If you need some ideas for NYFW here it is.
The summer flew by and Labor Day Weekend is already here. Hats off to all the hard working people! Let’s enjoy the long weekend and celebrate all the time and efforts that has gone into our j-o-b-s. And some wise words: ‘Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life’.
Hard work = Treat. Treat yourself to any handbag on our site during the Labor Day Weekend and apply this code for 30 percent off: LASTDAYSOFSUMMER.
We always reach for the Art Tote when the weekend arrives. It’s great to take to the market, beach, park and around the city. It was almost a year ago when we first started these canvas + leather totes with limited edition screen prints. This geometric white design is an abstract ‘M-L’ created by shapes along with text nodding to our first art + fashion exhibition for Draft Space. It’s a simple design that works into all your casual weekend looks.
We love how this geometric heart necklace compliments the screen print. Check out One Oak by Sara Jewelry to shop this necklace and stay tuned to see how we styled more of her gorgeous pieces with our handbags.
This is the bag we are toting around EVERY DAY. It is easy, effortless and fits everything you need. The fact that you can wear it handheld, over the shoulder and as a crossbody makes it super versatile. The soft leather and slouchy shape molds into your on-the-go city lifestyle.
The Belmont Check Bucket Bag was a special project with Young & Able. We talked about making an exclusive bag that is a limited edition for $198. They came over to our studio and filmed the making of the bag as we brought the idea to life. Check out the video and shop the bag at YxA.
The Belmont Bucket Bags are our favorite bags for the summer. They are effortlessly cool and can be worn as a shoulder bag, crossbody and/or handheld. The YxA exclusive has the special checkered panels that is inspired by retro floor tiles. It’s a great piece to jazz up any outfit with the graphic black & white punch. We love it so much we had to bring it on our recent travels to NOLA.
Here’s a special blue DIY envelope clutch so the bride can wear.. something old, something new, something borrowed and SOMETHING BLUE. Since my dear friend is tying the knot today I wanted to make a special blue python envelope to go with this pretty Papyrus wedding card for her special day.
Here’s how to make one yourself:
5. Add pin snaps for closure
6. Use a leather bonding glue to adhere the python, reinforcement and leather lining
7. Fold envelope and sew the edges and there is your envelope clutch!
Love him or hate him, Jeff Koons sold his Balloon Dog (Orange) on Novermeber 2013 for $58.4 million becoming the most expensive work sold at auction by a living artist. This American pop artist is known for his reproductions of banal objects in stainless steel with mirror-finish surfaces.
Jeff Koons: A Retrospective exhibition is the artist’s first major museum presentation in New York and the first to fill nearly the entirety of the Whitney Museum (945 Madison Avenue at 75th Street, New York, NY 10021). It will also be the final exhibition to take place there before the Museum opens its new building in the Meatpacking District in 2015.
Who doesn’t want to see life-size mounds of play-doh, Popeye and balloon dogs? It’s a fun exhibition you don’t want to miss – open till October 19, 2014. To top that, Jeff Koons and H&M are collaborating and there’s a ballon dog bag involved! Wow.
Bazaar-On-Hudson is a thoughtfully curated indoor flea market at The Living Room – 103 Main Street Cold Spring, New York 10516. They are open on Sundays (10:30am to 4:30pm) until July 27 when the season ends. They have a variety of vendors from gluten-free goodies, furniture, ceramics, jewelry, art and more. Look for our select handbags that are featured with the Reservoir & Wood table.
We had a great time being part of the market and exploring this quaint town. The Main Street at Cold Springs has so much to offer from shopping to delicious eats. We could of stayed all day digging for treasures at all the Antique stores. Make sure to stop by Ellen Hayden Gallery (sells Art & Antiques), The General Store and Go-Go Pops for handmade fresh fruit ice pops! Great day trip that is only a little over an hour drive from New York City.
*UPDATE* – We have moved our bags to the Reservoir & Wood Store located at 460 Main St., Beacon, NY 12508.
Over two weeks ago we attended the annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards at the SVA Theatre in New York. The international handbag competition had over 1,500 applicants and we were honored to be nominated as a finalist for TWO categories!
Last year we won the Best Handmade Handbag Category sponsored by Brother Sews and this year we were a finalist for the same category with Bernina as the sponsor. The second category was the Distinctly Denim by Guess Handbags where they chose five finalist from sketches and each finalist had 3 weeks to make the bag from their sketch. It was a great opportunity to be part of this Independent Handbag community again and to be featured on InStyle.com where fans can vote for their fan favorite.
The night before the Award Ceremony, several finalists got together to mingle and break the ice. It was great to get to know the talented designers and hear about all the different places they traveled from. Everyone was very supportive and we made new friends from around the world.
The big night which took place on June 18th, 2014 was exciting as always. Even if we were not chosen as the winner this year we were so happy for all the winners and so thankful to Emily Blumenthal for building this wonderful community. We will continue to create, inspire and dream big thanks to platforms like IHDA that allows emerging designers to get recognition in this way.
Accessory designers from all over attend the Henri Bendel Open-See for the chance to have their designs sold at the Henri Bendel Flagship Store. Last October 2013, we stood on line for 3 hours and it was all worth it when the Handbag Buyer responded with “Would you like to do a Trunk Show with us?”
Fast forward 8 months and we just completed our Henri Bendel Trunk Show this past weekend from June 12-15th. What a great experience to be part of this iconic store and have a trunk show before the restructuring. We were thrilled to be doing a trunk show at the same time as our jewelry friend One Oak by Sara and meeting all the sweet stylists around the store.
Other highlights during the four days was a book signing event with Betty Liu, launching Work Smarts, and the panel held by Mary Alice Stephenson from Glam4Good. Thanks to everyone that stopped by to say hello. If you weren’t able to make it – you’re in luck since we are having a sample sale Thursday, June 19th from 5:30-8:30pm at Showroom New York: 262 West 36th Street Room 506. Happy Summer Shopping!
Finally getting around to doing my DIY post for my Brother Sewing machine!
This Simplicity SB3129 sewing machine was shipped to me last July ’13 as an award for winning the Best Handmade Handbag for IHDA.
It took me awhile to learn how to use this since I am not a big fan of reading manuals and I was very comfortable using my industrial sewing machine. However, when I finally gave it a try – I realized it was very easy to use and all the computerized buttons weren’t that intimidating after all. This youtube tutorial video I found online helped me get started.
My first project I wanted to do on this machine was a DIY Tool Box Kit to store all the pieces this machine came with. I had a vintage wooden trunk that needed a facelift and what better way than adding my cute dogs to it?!? Bang Bang and Boh Boh are my snorkie brothers that were the perfect models for my Brother DIY project.
Now I am very excited to try more projects on this machine. Next time I will try the embroidery and multiple stitch options. Thanks Brother for this great machine! Had to incorporate your Brother at your side tagline to our image.
This post is all about a Getaway since it is Memorial Day weekend around the corner.
1. Our Art Tote is the best tote for the beach, bbq or park. The durable canvas, simple graphic print and leather handles make it simply chic and versatile. 2. Who doesn’t love a long casual necklace to throw over a white t-shirt? This One Oak by Sara necklace is sweet with a pinch of tough from the hammered finish AND it reminds of our Essex Clutch shape so of course we love. 3. Some days you just want a sexy one piece swim suit – thanks to Alexander Wang. 4. Here’s a subtle mani in hues of blue w. metallic that you can do at home. 5. Reflective Mirrored Sunglasses puts us right in the ‘vacay’ mode. 6. Daydreaming of Italy… Guess why? 7. Lastly, bust out the white shoes to celebrate the weekend – Happy Memorial Day!
On Thursday May 8th, 2014 Bodybinds and Marylai hosted their first collaborative fashion launch event to celebrate the BBxML Stassi clutch inspired by Bravo TV’s Stassi Schroeder at the swanky and chic Beautique restaurant. The bag is SEXY folks! I also love when women in business come together to create amazing things.
I had the pleasure of working with both Mary and Jackie during the editorial photo shoot of the BBxML Stassi clutch and it was so great seeing them work together, problem solve, create and lead the team. I would really love to see more small businesses, boutique businesses and entrepreneurs collaborate on great business opportunities!
It’s a great night in New York when you can meet engaging and creative people, enjoy delicious food & drinks and have an all around good time. The #BBxML event was that and more for me.
I enjoyed chatting it up with Ona Bags founder, Tracy Foster. I had met her at a previous event celebrating the launch of one of her camera bags with Leica and it was great to catch up some more.
Some of the bloggers and fashionistas spotted throughout the night were latin lifestyle blogger Jessica Flores of DomesticatedMe, fashion blogger Naty of ALoveAffairWithFashion and fashion blogger Beau Alexander Castro of BeauTalksNow.
In addition to the guests exploring the BBxML Stassi clutch and other Marylai + Bodybinds products, 3 guests won the various #BBxML giveaways by photographing and socially sharing the most creative pictures. To see images of the evening and the process, just search #BBxML on instagram, google and twitter!
Thank you Beautique! If you’re ever in New York, you must visit. I’ve now eaten twice at this swanky restaurant and everything I’ve tasted is YUM. Beautique is located at 8 West 58th Street. New York, New York 10019
One of the #BBxML event sponsors was LaceyCakesNYC. OMG!!! I had never had her cupcakes before and that night I believe I consumed 10. Not only does she create branded cupcakes that are perfect for events, parties and more….her cupcakes are DELICIOUS. (I hope she makes red velvet cupcakes. Those are my favorite.)
Looooved the Lillot Jewelry adored on the mannequins by Liliam Higa and wish I won the necklace!
The #BBxML editorial team consisted of:
Last, but not least, the #BBxML Stassi clutch. There are a few things I need from a clutch: style, portability, slight storage. The Stassi clutch obviously has style for days. Its sparkly. It’s black. It plays with a bondage design. YES! By portability, I mean the ease with which I can carry it in my hand when out on the town. And yes, the clutch does not disappoint. There has to be a balance though between having a suitably sized clutch and actually being able to use it. I’ve had clutch purses that could only fit my id and credit card inside. That’s of no use. I need to at least add my cell phone and house keys. At least! I personally feel as if the Stassi clutch is a great size. Its a little bigger than your average clutch and can hold an iPad mini! Or if you’re a geek like me, it can hold a journal or small book….while still being small and stylish to take the the clubs, date night or some special event. – Sheena
And Mary & Jackie, THANK YOU so much for inviting me to your special event. I have such a wonderful, fashionable, sexy time!

A few days in LA was exactly what was needed to relax & refresh. The vibe, people and weather always gets us coming back…
We got to catch up with our girl crush Dani Song. We adore her cool LA style and love that she’s been rocking our bags since we launched our collection. We got to catch up with her over coffee and here’s 5 questions with Dani:
Did you have fashion influencers growing up? How did you become the style influencer you are today?
D: My major influencer is of course my sister Aimee Song who is not only a fashion blogger but a talented interior decorator. My mother was also an interior decorator with a great sense of style and growing up she had a clothes store which really influenced our love for fashion. I also look to a lot of street style, menswear, womenswear and mix it up.
You’re a woman of many talents between photographing, styling hair, and doing makeup. What are your true passions?
D: I love what I do because I work for myself and take on projects with brands I enjoy. I also love traveling with my sister and being her hair stylist, makeup artist and the photographer. This is my passion and i’m also excited about a special design project that I’m working on with Aimee. Looking forward to revealing that soon.
What is something people don’t know about you?
D: If you follow my instagram and social media I look like I’m always out partying and people think I’m a social butterfly. However, people don’t realize I am actually very shy. It takes me awhile to get to know people and open up.
Who is one person you want to meet dead or alive? Why?
D: Tupac. I love him, his music and lyrics.
Any plans for this year?
D: I’m looking forward to my second trip to Morocco 😀
What a great way to jazz up a boring set of keys. Try it at home or stay tuned for our next event to get your hands on these precious charms. These have the key to our heart – melt!
If you’ve been following us on instagram I’m sure you’ve seen some images of the Bodybinds x Marylai Collaboration. Bodybinds is couture bondage lingerie designed by my good friend Jackie Hopson. We put our design brains together to create some exciting stuff…
Here is a little behind the scenes action of the design process creating our collaboration product. We will launch the #BBxML ‘Stassi’ Clutch exclusively on our sites before the end of the month!
Here’s a sneek peak photo of our A-Team that helped make this project come to life. A very professional bunch as you can see! Check out their profiles to see more of their talent.
Some days you feel like dressing up and some days you just roll out… looking effortlessly cool. We had to feature Lynn’s neckbreakinstyle where she shows how to rework some favorite pieces in her closet. Our Jayel Bond Bag and this pastel pink sweater look completely transformed when styled like this. We love how you switch it up!

It’s actually March in San Francisco while visiting the Amblard Leather Atelier. I have been wanting to check out the April in Paris Boutique where custom handcrafted leather accessories are made by Hermes trained Beatrice Amblard. Last night I was able to join the tuesday evening drop-in Class. If I lived in San Francisco I would love to sign up for the Advanced 1-year program. However, a two hour class was better than nothing. The class taught the very basics from making a simple pattern to cutting leather. It was a pleasure seeing an atelier that teaches the centuries-old craft of leatherwork using hand and traditional tools.
Daydreaming of spring and loving the hints of warmer weather these days. On our wishlist we went with pinks + florals to keep the sunshine going. Pantone has called Radiant Orchid the color of 2014 and we are testing out this shade with the Ava Clutch exclusive on (3.)Boticca. This clutch can be handheld and/or worn with the detachable chain as a shoulder bag. We paired it with this floral print (4.)slip on sneaker from Givenchy that we are kinda dying over. Since we stored our puffy jackets away, we added this classic Saint Laurent wool (1.)coat on the list. The rest of this look is completed with (2.)neutral makeup and a pop color in the (5.)nails.
NYFW has come to an end and now we can get back to our daily grind including the blog. We had a wonderful opportunity to feature our newest handbags in the ByMisha NYFW Presentation along with gorgeous jewelry by GBGH (Go Big or Go Home). We loved how the clothes, bags and jewelry complimented each other to create these eloquent looks.
The complete look included makeup by Bobbi Brown, nails by Misho Beauty and the double bun hairstyle by Prive Salon. Not only did the models look stunning but the Lali Lali Gallery Space looked like a wonderland – thanks to decor by Tinsel & Twine. Special thanks also to The Eclective, Summit Health, Owl’s Brew and Meg’s Sweet Treats. The presentation offered not only a great show but delicious eats, drinks and goodies… including our mini python clutches. It was a great turn out and check out the video made by Enrique Vasquez for all the highlights from the night! And big thanks to Danika Daly for the event production & PR!
Even if the weather is frigid in New York, here is a simple chic way to keep it classy in the cold. Tiffany accessorizes with a Piccolo cashmere scarf wrapped around her head to keep the warmth. Thinking warm tones with our classic Mason Tote in bordeaux – the washed goat leather and gunmetal hardware makes it the perfect Red Bag to match with the rest of your wardrobe. Photographed beautifully by Kate Warren.
We’re starting 2014 with a DIY blog post. Our limited edition canvas + leather totes have been a fan favorite, and this time we created a modern graphic that is simple and also a sneak peek for our gallery exhibition coming up next month.
The Art Tote is minimal and leaves room to add your own DIY touch to it. Have fun designing and let us know how you wear it. Here’s Tiffany wearing the DIY Art Tote in the NYC cold weather. Stay warm!
We officially launched the company December 2012 and 2013 was our first full year for MARYLAI New York. Looking back at this year, we are so thankful for everyone that supported and showed love for our brand. We want to take this opportunity to reflect back on the highlights from this year.
We started the collection to create handbags that were made for the modern creative women that appreciates design and details. Our first retail store that picked us up saw exactly that. The lovely couple that owns Verve NYC on Bleecker Street said they loved the freshness in our collection. The more we talked, the more we fell in love with their story. They have been around since the 90’s and have carried and launched independent designers such as Rebecca Minkoff, Christopher Kon, and others. They believe in finding talent to keep fresh products in their store.
Getting the phone call from Independent Handbag Designer Awards announcing us as a finalist was the best news ever. There was so much excitement and nervousness leading up to the Award Ceremony in June. We met many talented designers the day of the event and being called up as the winner of the Best Handmade Handbag was like a dream come true. Getting a feature on the September Issue of InStyle magazine was the cherry on top. Thank you HBD101 for providing brand awareness and recognition to our brand with the IHDA.
One thing lead to another and we were on a flight to Las Vegas for the WWD Magic Week. American Express Open had chosen three handbag designers to be part of a live handbag competition where each designer creates a handbag from sketch to final product. We were given 2.5 days to perform in front of the audience walking through the Convention Center, and what an experience! Being chosen as the winner of the Amex Open Rising Star Award was not only a highlight of 2013 but a highlight of my life. I am truly honored and thankful to American Express Open for creating a platform where small businesses can shine doing what they love to do.
Keeping the momentum going we had our first Trunk Show during Sept NYFW at the Pamela Gonzales store in Soho. We were also part of Nolcha Fashion Week and showed our products in the Fashion Lounge. It’s such a privilege to be a brand based out of New York where all of these opportunities are at our fingertips. In October, we stood on 5th Avenue in front of the Henri Bendel Store for the Open See Designer Casting Call. After 3 hours of waiting on line and less than 15 mins to show the collection, we were chosen to participate in one of their trunk shows. We are still confirming that date but will keep you posted when the date is confirmed.
There are plenty of other great moments along with challenges and lessons learned from 2013. However, we wanted to share the ‘Best Of 2013’ for now, and we are especially happy for all the great people we have met this year. Being a small business is not easy and we are still a very small fish in a very large pond, but we will continue to work hard and dream big. Cheers to bringing on 2014, and lots of love from the MARYLAI team!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. Just in case you need…
These new Maeve Wristlets are great to use as a clutch, makeup bag and/or to compartmentalize all the things in your big bag. These chic beauties are marked down from $95 to $65 and make perfect gifts. Feel free to get creative and fill the pouch with fun goodies and surprise that special someone. We added a few things we love! 1. Essie Luxeffects Glitter Topcoat to add pizzaz 2. Adorable Arrow Keychains by Parabellum 3. CDG perfumes from the new Dover Market in New York 4. And I’m obsessed with these Red Velvet Sunnies. Happy Holidays!!!~
Art Basel was an art marathon and between the art shows and being part of Nobe 67, there was no time for beach & relaxation this trip. However, it was nice escaping the cold New York winter and getting inspiration in the 85 degree Miami heat. Plus we were able to meet other talented emerging designers showcasing at the Deauville Hotel.
So many great pieces of art to fit in one blog post. Here’s a small fraction of all the greatness. We took a little from the Convention Center, Scope, Art Miami and Context. Here is our Art Basel video where we speed walk you through our highlights from the weekend.
There was a long line outside the David Zwirner Gallery to see the latest Yayoi Kusama exhibition. ‘I Who Have Arrived in Heaven’ was filled with her signature dots, and her patterns have now expanded to include eyes, dotted worms, stripes, flower petals, and sunrays. The infinity rooms were out of this world and a trip into her psychedelic mind.
It is amazing to see how Kusama has continued her artistic journey from the 60’s in New York, back to Japan, and now to be the international artist she is today. A beacon in the avant-garde, Pop Art, minimalist and feminist art movements, the Japanese artist’s portfolio includes painting, collage, sculpture, performance art and installations.
Here are more of her pieces that we saw exhibited in Miami during Art Basel. You can spot her work from miles away and she continues to inspire us through her evolution.
Stay posted for the rest of our Art Basel run-through & inspirations coming up next!
Before the Label is a new fashion crowd-funding site that is testing out our first unisex bag. The Bryson Tote is functional and fashionable with three ways to carry the style.
The campaign ends Nov 30th – so don’t miss out on this special bag and price ($295). The durable canvas and leather combo creates a versatile polished-casual look for both men and women. Check out how it is worn as a tote, messenger and a briefcase in our video.
Add this hat to your wishlist for the weekend. We made a leopard haircalf snapback to be sold at the Fashion on the Factory Floor and it matches perfectly with the Evie Wristlet. Holiday gifting made easy. And who doesn’t love jewelry?! Here is the Double Trouble Ring by Nagicia Jewelry straight from Bali to add some cool. To finish off this eccentric-casual look we added these Tibi booties and a feminine Madewell mid-length skirt to our wishlist.
This Pop Up has a little bit of everything and great for holiday shopping. Cultures of Love (aka Creeds of Love) did a stellar job bringing socially responsible brands together to create an interactive pop up shop experience.
It was my pleasure to do a Live Art piece during their Press Event, which will later be auctioned off for charity. I painted with Molotow acrylic markers to create a black & white graphic piece that incorporated the Cultures of Love, House of Horology and Marylai logos. The painting is still up in the store – so swing by if you’re in the area.
Was able to interview with Livid Magazine at the event – here is the feature:
