Synchronicity is a phenomenon when two seemingly unrelated events are intertwined. The concept, first introduced by the psychologist Carl Jung, labeled it as “meaningful coincidences.” As artists, these meaningful coincidences validate our journey and confirm the directions we take. Following the unknown creative path often has no set formula or answers, so we hope for these serendipitous moments that keep us pursuing our passion.
Exceptional connections are what brought this collection together- with a wide range of requested early works to several new series. This show highlights Mary Lai’s journey of following her heart, brain and guts, with a touch of luck. Some may call this luck or some may call it synchronicity, but this phenomenon happens when preparation and hard work meets opportunity. This exhibition titled ‘Synchronicity’ is the visual manifestation of meaningful coincidences.
